My name is Jessica, and that's my husband, Jeff. We're hopeful parents looking for our little one (or ones) to build our family together. We’ve always been enthusiastic about adoption, knowing that we can provide a child with a loving home and supportive environment now and for the rest of their lives. Together, as a family, we hope that we can help a child realize their dreams and provide a solid foundation for them to tackle the world.
Our Backstory:
Jeff was born and raised near Allentown, PA. He completed his doctorate at the University of Pittsburgh in Pharmacy. He works for the VA Hospital specializing in pain management, helping to relieve veterans of substance abuse disorders.
I was born in New Castle, PA. I completed my undergraduate degree at The University of Pittsburgh (where Jeff and I met) and my master's degree in sustainable design from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. I am a Creative Director specializing in climate change and conservation with a nonprofit in Washington, D.C.
We are both passionate about making the world a better place and have been fortunate enough to find meaningful careers trying to do just that.
Jeff and I moved to Phoenix in 2004 and 2005, respectively, and lived there happily until 2016. Arizona continues to play a large role in our lives; we have a rental property in Phoenix and often visit to escape the winters and visit with friends and family. In 2016, we moved to Grand Rapids, MI, for Jeff’s first position with the VA Hospital. We currently reside in Grand Rapids, but both work remotely and have the opportunity to relocate based on the needs of our adoptive family.
Family plays a big role in our lives, and Jeff and I are fortunate to have close relationships with our immediate and extended families nearby and far away. Our nieces and nephew eagerly await a new cousin to add to the family!
Our Relationship & Values:
Jeff and I are truly a story of opposites attracting, and we balance one another beautifully. Jeff is analytical, thoughtful, and detail-oriented. I am creative, caring, and passionate. Together, our friends describe us as a warm, inviting, and generous team during good and bad times. We are fiercely loyal, and both maintain very close relationships with friends and family in PA, AZ, and MI.
Jeff and I caught the travel bug early on in our relationship and are eager to begin trips with our new family to help provide them with a rich perspective on life. I am of Italian heritage, and my specific lineage allows my family (including adoptive children) to qualify for dual Italian citizenship. We hope that our family can continue to travel and experience the beauty of this world together.
We are both active and love hiking, biking, weird gym classes, and walking our beloved dog, Harley. Humor and laughter play a major role in our lives, and we try not to take ourselves too seriously. I look forward to the future family homemade (and ridiculous) group Halloween costumes, our annual “oddball” Christmas cards, and exploring the night sky to hopefully one day see the northern lights as a family. Jeff looks forward to indoor fort-building, little league teams, collecting foliage to examine under the microscope, and camping adventures.
We are ready to start our family and hope it begins here!
